Inflamed with the spirit of an apostle, Venerable Bruno Lanteri founded the Congregation of the Oblates of the Virgin Mary in 1826 in northern Italy. He taught the Oblates to examine attentively the "signs of the times", to better guide men and women to find the answers they seek in Christ. The vision he lived is the vision we embrace.
Their mission and ministry contains in their working towards a rebirth of spirituality in today's world by forming priests and brothers who are merciful, Marian, faithful, Ignatian and ardent. By combining a fraternal community life, with deep respect for truth, high standards of moral integrity and a genuine concern for others, we will form men to help others encounter the person of Jesus Christ and make his love known to the world.
